Do you love it!?  My new blog look was designed by the beautiful and talented Elise Ribeira.  You should all use her services for any of your graphic design needs.  I described to her what I wanted and she just came up with this totally perfect header!  Contact her at http://be.net/liliribs.  Thanks again, Elise!

This lovely quilt was pieced by Mo Fritz and sent to me all the way from Chicago.  I just love the colors and pattern.  Mo requested quilting that was modern and structural, so I went with some asymmetrical zig zags that followed the piecing.  I love how it turned out!

Here is another one that master quilter Leigh pieced.  She is actually keeping this one for herself (for once!) so she was pretty excited when I returned it to her.  She requested her very favorite quilting design again.  It’s the same one I used on her “man quilt”.  It certainly looks beautiful!  And I think I am getting pretty good at it after 2 large quilts.

I pieced and quilted this quilt for my niece, Miranda.  She is just about to graduate from high school and is off to BYU in the fall!  Hooray!  She just received her quilt and, thankfully, she loves it.  I had a love/hate relationship with this little quilt.  I didn’t use a pattern, because all of Miranda’s T-shirts came out to all different random sizes after being cut.  I improvised the whole thing, which I have never done before, adding random squares of varying colors and patterns here and there.  Gray seemed best as the border, binding, and backing (in flannel) so that the crazy colors in the center could stand out.

This is a quilt that my mom pieced for Henry,  the newest grandbaby in the family.  It was fun to quilt.  So bright and cute!

This is an example of custom work.  Some stippling in the center, a wavy border, and each individual pinwheel highlighted as well.

Here’s another beauty that Leigh pieced.  I used the ripply water pattern again.  Very pretty.  I really love a white background with pops of bright colors.

The lovely Leigh at Leedle Deedle quilts is having a giveaway!  I want in on this one too.  She’s giving away some adorable fat quarters from Heather Ross’ Mendocino line.  Go check it out!  The giveaway ends Sunday night.

Cute stuff!

My sister-in-law Leigh has been giving me lots of good practice with all of the great quilts she’s sent me!  This quilt is for her oldest son, Jack.  Very clean, simple, horizontal lines at various widths.  Love it!  And I hear that Jack loves it, too.

This is a small little quilt that my mom pieced and I quilted.  It’s got a ripply water thing goin on, which I like.  It’s a good basic design for any type of quilt.

These photos were taken kind of spur of the moment and we didn’t really try to get the best lighting or anything.  You get the idea, though.

and here we have a quilt for sale.  i used different shades of pinks with a white grid for the sashing and the backing is white flannel.  pink, soft, and rose buds-  perfect for a new baby girl!  i’m asking $275- just send me a message if you’re interested!

ps- the lighting in the full-size shot makes some of the pinks look a little neon.  the colors are definitely much more soft in person.
